2nd Sunday of Easter, Year B or Sunday of the Divine Mercy

Reading 1 - Acts 4:32-35; Reading 2 - 1 John 5:1-6; Gospel - John 20:19-31
Adults: In a similar situation, would I react like Thomas and demand to touch Jesus’ wounds in order to believe?  Children: How am I sharing the peace of Christ with my friends?
“‘My Lord and my God!’ …Blessed are those who have not seen and believed.”
How did you come to your belief? What have you seen that helped your belief? What signs have strengthened your belief?

Easter Sunday of the Resurrection of the Lord - Year B

Reading 1: Acts 10:34a, 37-43; Reading 2: Colossians 3:1-4; Gospel: John 20:1-9
Adults: What do I fear in my family, job, or neighborhood, and how can I entrust my fears to Christ?
Children: What do I do when I am frightened? Do I realize that praying to Jesus will surround me with his love?
“Then the other disciple went in, the one who had arrived at the tomb first, and he saw and believed.” Excitement and fear, anticipation and hesitancy; have you had these feelings before? Have you ever been the first to sign up but the last to sign on? What about your coming to belief? When and how did it occur? What was your journey to come to the point where you can boldly proclaim “I believe” as we recite the Creed?

Pope's April Intentions

The Apostleship of Prayer announced that Pope Benedict XVI will be praying this month that the youth and young adults will open their hearts to the call of our Savior to serve their church in a religious vocation. His general intention is "that many young people may hear the call of Christ and follow him in the priesthood and religious life.." And the Pontiff's mission intention is "that the risen Christ may be a sign of certain hope for the men and women of the African continent.."
